Welcome to SyncGuard (“App”). By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please stop using the App immediately.
We take your data privacy and security seriously. This Privacy Policy explains how SyncGuard collects, stores, encrypts, and protects your personal information. Continued use of the App implies your consent to this policy.
2. Data We Collect
SyncGuard stores the following data:
- User Credentials: Passwords, usernames, secure notes, and other sensitive data that you choose to save in the app.
- Account Data: Your email and device ID to associate your data with your account (if required for sync).
Automatically Collected:
- Device Info: OS version, app version, and device type (used for debugging only).
- Crash Logs: Anonymized error and crash data to improve app stability.
3. Cloud Storage and Encryption
Your data is securely encrypted on your device before being uploaded to the cloud. This means:
- Only you can decrypt your stored information using your master password.
- We cannot read or access your passwords, even on our servers.
Encryption is based on strong industry-standard algorithms like AES-256 or similar. Your master password is never stored on our servers.
4. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
- Store and sync your encrypted credentials across devices.
- Restore your vault when you reinstall the app or switch devices.
- Improve app performance and resolve crashes (only anonymized logs).
We do not sell or share your personal data with advertisers or third parties.
5. Data Sharing
Your data is never shared except:
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, and only with encrypted data—we do not have the decryption key.
- Business Transfers: If the app is sold or merged, your encrypted data may be transferred securely.
6. Your Consent
By using SyncGuard, you:
- Explicitly consent to cloud storage and strong encryption of your password data.
- Acknowledge that you are responsible for safeguarding your master password.
- Accept that we cannot recover your data if you lose your master password, due to our zero-knowledge encryption model.
7. Your Responsibilities
- Keep your master password safe and never share it.
- Use a strong master password to protect your vault.
- Understand that losing your password may result in permanent loss of access to your stored data.
8. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. You will be notified within the app when major changes are made. Continued use of the app implies acceptance of the updated policy.
